Any Ukrainian will get an opportunity to participate in the development of NASA projects. On April 23 – 24, 2016 Kyiv will host the NASA SpaceApps Challenge – an annual 48-hour hackathon, which runs in over 130 cities around the world simultaneously, where participants will work on up-to-date tasks of space experts, reports 112.international
It’s the first time that Ukraine is going to join NASA SpaceApps Challenge. The hackathon was organized by enthusiasts with the support of sponsors. “The world needs new ideas. We intend to create a Ukrainian space community in order to promote Ukraine as a competent space power with huge innovation potential”, – stated one of the organizers and mentor of Kyiv NASA SpaceApps Challenge Andriy Bigunov.
Engineers, developers, designers, entrepreneurs, big data analytics, experts and students are welcome to take part in the project, there are no special requirements and limitations.
The project challenges for 2016 cover such topics as aeronautics, space stations, space flights to Mars, planet Earth, Solar system and outer space, technologies. The list of challenges is published on NASA SpaceApps Challenge Initiative website. Developers will use API to get access to various data of NASA. Registration will be open until April 15.
The jury includes well-known scientists and leaders of the Ukrainian space industry and mentors from different fields, who will assess the working prototypes. The three best projects will be picked up during the event by the jury, and NASA experts will determine the winners in special categories.
